Hope Finley has been a self-advocate since middle school and has been a board member of Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered since 2008. When asked about voting Hope said “My birthday is the first week of November. I wanted to vote the first year that I turned 18. Given the fact that my birthday is 6 days after the election I found out that I was not able to vote that first year. I was disappointed to say the least. The next year I was so excited to vote. After I voted I had a huge smile on my face.”
